Bird watchers will see far less of their feather friends this fall as many look to the south for warmer climates to avoid the harsh winter weather. Rob Hults of the Open Door Bird Sanctuary in Jacksonport says although many birds migrate south, many do not travel that far to find their off-season habitat.
The Open Door Bird Sanctuary, which rehabilitates birds of prey like hawks, owls and turkey vultures, will again be open to the public on select weekends through the summer next year. For information on the Open Door Bird Sanctuary, go to the link below:
