Connecting education to business will the focus of a summit being hosted next month by the Kewaunee County UW-Extension and the Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation. Highlighting the summit will be Marci Waldron-Kuhn and Sara Greenwood from Mishicot School District discussing their model for academic and career planning and the success they have had with their program. KCEDC Executive Director Jennifer Brown says connecting students with prospective employers is a huge benefit to the local economy.
Sarah Nelson from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College will also introduce the Ahnapee Regional Technical Academy, a new cooperative effort between Kewaunee County school districts allowing students to do coursework in software development (Luxemburg-Casco), agriculture (Kewaunee), and manufacturing (Algoma). The summit will take place in the Algoma Elementary School auditorium December 13 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
