Gary L. Plansky, 74, of the town of Carlton, Kewaunee, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at home under the care of his sister Bonnie after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia.
Gary was the first of four children born to Arthur and Shirley (Born) Plansky on August 26, 1942. Gary lived his entire life on the family farm in Carlton Township having taken over operations when his father passed. He took pride in preserving the legacy of his centennial-plus family farm. Gary was honest and trustworthy and hardworking; always there to care for his Mother and Aunt Nettie. A skilled inventor, the frugal years taught Gary to hon his ability to master whatever tool or machine needed to keep the farm operating. Gary had a passion for antiques and polka music. In his younger years he played the accordion.
Gary was preceded in death by parents Arthur and Shirley Plansky. Survived by his sisters Emily (Wenzel) Swagel, Bonnie (Robert) Jurasinski, and Brother Dale (Doris) Plansky, nephews, Wenzel (Jane) Swagel, Richard (Jennifer) Swagel and nieces, Dawn (Mark) Bublitz, Susan (William) Lohry, Danya (Brandon) Bouska and Denette Plansky.
Many thanks to Bonnie Plansky who devoted years providing 24 hour care for Gary as he battled both Parkinson’s and Dementia.
