Past generations developed hearing problems on the job. Today, according to a local hearing aid specialist, the cause is music, iPods and ear buds. Don Schroeder, owner of Zounds Hearing in northeast Wisconsin, comments on the trend which is equally as threatening to the ears.
While the advent of iPods has taken center stage regarding new causes of hearing loss, there are other more mundane things that could cause problems. Schroeder says that they best way to protect your hearing is to take extra precaution when it comes to loud things. He advises that even when mowing your lawn, a little hearing protection will go a long way.
