For the past 20 years, individuals in the Gibraltar and Sevastopol communities have hosted a parade on Thanksgiving Day to raise funds to help their neighbors. This year, the fundraising event is headed by the members of the students of Gibraltar DECA & the Sevastopol Student Council. DECA member Amber Kelly explains who the recipient of the fundraiser will be this year.
In addition to helping Marsha Wilson, the students will also go shopping together to purchase gifts for families in need. This year the students will focus on two families in particular. They will receive items such as clothing, toys, and gift cards. Amber says although the two student groups work separately, they do come together frequently for coordination.
The parade will take place on Thanksgiving Day at 10:30 am and everyone in the community is encouraged to attend. The parade route will start at the Jacksonport Ballpark, continue on to 57, turn around at Mike’s Port Tub and then will return on that same route to the ballpark.
