You’ll have a chance to sound off about spending when the City of Algoma holds a public hearing on its 2017 budget tonight. The city, which recently received a clean bill of health from auditors, has been working hard to make this budget work. So city administrator Jeff Wiswell wants to make sure everyone who is interested has the chance to examine the budget before it is approved.
$4.5 million worth of taxes have been collected within the city and the 6 pm meeting will allow residents to examine how the money is being allocated. The 2017 budget will be up for final approval in December.
