After almost two years of being a subcommittee, the Kewaunee County Groundwater Task Force will fold with its work transitioning to the Land and Water Conservation committee. Kewaunee County Board Chairperson Robert Weidner is set to make the announcement during the November Task Force meeting on Wednesday, saying it has carried out its primary goal of becoming a “one stop source” for assistance with the area’s ground and surface waters. Task Force chairperson and Land and Water Conservation committee member Lee Luft is proud of the group’s accomplishments.
Meetings for the Groundwater Task Force will cease sometime early next year. Luft and Task Force member Ron Paider will continue their work on the Land and Water Conservation Committee.
