Tuesday’s election provided another example of how markets react to uncertainty. Much like this summer’s Brexit vote, stock futures took a tumble as the selection of a new President looked murky in the early morning hours. The markets have since rebounded since Donald Trump was named the President-elect early Wednesday morning. Tara Pierre of Edward Jones Investments says when you have confidence in your long term plan, you can weather periods of doubt in the markets.
Pierre says any finance-related policies introduced during campaigns often take a long time to implement if they take shape at all. Since Trump was elected, the Dow Jones and Nasdaq indices have posted gains in consecutive days.
