Phase 1 of the construction and renovation project at Kewaunee School District is nearing completion. The new auxiliary gym is set to host its first basketball tournament while its revamped fitness center is set to get its equipment on Wednesday. With the agriculture education center set to host classes starting after the holiday break and other parts of the building close to completion, Kewaunee School District Superintendent Karen Treml says students and staff are anxious to experience their new settings.
Kewaunee School District broke ground on the projects in April after passing a $16.2 million referendum in 2015. Phase 2 of the project will include the replacement of some of its mechanical systems and renovations to classrooms.
