Marion Barbara (Dier) Johnson, 91, of Sturgeon Bay, was called Home to the Lord and was reunited with her husband, Harvey, and daughter, Mary, Saturday morning, November 5, 2016 in the comfort of her home with her family at her side.
She was born June 26, 1925 in Algoma, the daughter of the late Carl and Lillian (Fett) Dier. On February 13, 1944, Marion was united in marriage to Harvey Maxwell Johnson at St. Mary Catholic Church in Algoma. They were blessed with over 49 years of marriage together. Harvey preceded her in death on July 14, 1993.
Marion led a simple life and loved her God, family, and her home. She also loved gardening, baking, and sewing.
Marion’s love will live on in the hearts of her two sons, Daniel (Marilyn) Johnson of Sturgeon Bay and Timothy (Melinda) Johnson of Egg Harbor; granddaughter, Emma Johnson; son-in-law, Dcn. Kenneth Kopydlowski of Sturgeon Bay; three sisters, Joan Reince of La Crosse, Diane Gray of Muskego, Judy Rocque of Algoma; and many dear nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Mary Lee Kopydlowski; three sisters, Sylvia Yauger, Ione Reince, Donna Lincoln; and brother, Norbert Dier.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. Joseph Cemetery Chapel in Sturgeon Bay with Fr. Anthony Birdsall officiating. There will be no scheduled visitation prior. Marion will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery beside her husband, Harvey.
