The Climate Change Coalition of Door County will host a presentation about creating sustainable communities next week. The focus of the talk will be on the Green Tier Legacy Communities program, a joint effort of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, the state Department of Natural Resources, 1000 Friends of Wisconsin, and other groups. LWM assistant director Curt Witynski says the purpose of the program is to foster sustainable practices to have a positive impact on the land and water.
According to Witnyski, no cities, towns, or villages in Door and Kewaunee counties are a part of the Green Tier Legacy Communities program. You can listen to the presentation on November 9 inside the Sturgeon Bay Common Council Chambers beginning at 7 p.m.
