Losing is tough. Losing by one point (33-32) despite playing without a handful of starters on the road in the NFL hurts even more. Sunday’s loss to Atlanta was another case study in the “next man up” theory Green Bay has been forced to specialize in this season.
Aaron Rodgers threw for 246 yard, four touchdowns, and rushed for 60 yards in a shootout against the Falcons. Davante Adams was Rodgers’ number one target hauling in 12 receptions for 74 yards in the loss. Jordy Nelson, Jeff Janis, Trevor Davis and Geronimo Allison each caught a touchdown.
The loss drops the Packers to (4-3) on the season. The division leading, one-loss Vikings play the Chicago Bears this evening on Monday Night Football. Green Bay will next host the Indianapolis Colts Sunday at 3:25 PM.
