The Southern Door Eagles ran for 413 yards and six touchdowns in their 41-3 Level 1 Division 5 route of the Kewaunee Storm. On the night, the Eagles racked up 549 total yards.
Derik LeCaptain lead the balanced rushing attack with 195 yards and two scores. Derik’s older brother Nick LeCaptain also ran over 100 yards finishing with 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tory Jandrin rushed for 88 yards and two scores with majority of it coming in the second half.
“In warm-ups my o-line came to me and said put it on our backs and we will get 300 yards,” said coach Pat McCarty. “I told my skill guys that and everyone stepped up.”
Through the air, LeCaptain finished 7-of-11 for 136 yards.
Defensively, the Eagles picked off Kewaunee Storm quarterback Cody Bultman twice and held the Storm to just a first quarter 22-yard field goal.
The Eagles will now host Winnebago Lutheran next Friday at Southern Door who beat Valders 21-0 Friday night. Pregame show is scheduled for 6:30 with kickoff at 7pm.
